The UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens is sponsoring the workshop “Fall Bird Migration with Jeff Thomas” on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 14-15.
Participants in this two-day course will examine the lives of birds during the fall migratory season. Topics will include identification of migrants and non-migrants; energetics of migration; behavioral patterns; and habitat characteristics.

As such, it is fitting that the facility bears the name of Bonnie Ethel Cone, the beloved mathematics teacher and visionary administrator who, perhaps more than anyone else, is credited as UNC Charlotte’s founder.
