Wednesday, January 23, 2013

Employees and students who earn less than $57,000 per year may be eligible for free access to tax preparation software and electronic filing.

UNC Charlotte’s VITA program, sponsored by the University’s Beta Alpha Psi chapter with support from the Belk College of Business, will operate an assistance location starting Friday, Feb. 1, in Friday Building, Room 290C. With the exception of March 9, volunteers will be available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays through April 12.

Qualifications to use various software packages will be provided at the site. Interested individuals should bring photo identification, email address, Social Security cards and birthdates for all those listed on the tax return, income documents and other relevant tax information.
