The UNC Charlotte Code of Student Academic Integrity sets forth the standards of academic integrity for students at the University, and it describes attendant faculty responsibilities. Chancellor Philip L. Dubois recently approved several changes to the Academic Integrity Code.
Afternoon classes canceled Jan. 25 due to weatherDate Published: January 25, 2013
Due to inclement weather, UNC Charlotte will cancel classes Friday, Jan. 25, starting at 12:30 p.m. Essential employees are required to report for duty on their usual schedule.
Other UNC Charlotte staff may observe an optional workday.
Mahler to discuss ‘Basics of Intellectual Property’Date Published: January 25, 2013
Carl Mahler, executive director of the University’s Office of Technology Transfer, will present “Basics of Intellectual Property” at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 29, in Cameron Applied Research Center, Room 154.
Mahler has headed the office since 2007. Prior to UNC Charlotte, he worked in technology transfer offices at Case Western Reserve and Carnegie Mellon University.

The Office of Waste Reduction and Recycling recently received the 2013 Charlotte Chamber Wells Fargo Green Award in recognition of the campus’ mini-bin program.
Statues installed outside football stadiumDate Published: January 24, 2013
Two larger-than-life statues took their place outside the Charlotte 49ers football stadium earlier this week. The identical 12-foot statues, which depict a quarterback in motion, adorn stadium entrances at opposing end zones. Long-time University benefactor Irwin Belk commissioned the sculptures, created by artist Jon Hair.

Education professor receives Fulbright Specialists AwardDate Published: January 23, 2013
Spencer Salas, assistant professor of middle, secondary and K-12 education in the College of Education , was selected for a Fulbright Senior Specialists project in TEFL/Applied Linguistics in Johannesburg, South Africa. The project will be completed in February and July 2013, according to the United States Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.
