In the 16th annual Alice Tate Lecture in Judaic Studies, Amy-Jill Levine of Vanderbilt University will talk on "The Misunderstood Jew: The Church and the Scandal of the Jewish Jesus." This free, community talk will be at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Myers Park Presbyterian Church.
The Charlotte 49ers men’s soccer team led Conference USA in home attendance during the regular season, and nationally, the 49ers ranked 12th for accumulated attendance and 14th in average attendance.
The Charlotte 49ers Athletic Foundation raised a record $191,000 at its 10th annual "Let Me Play" luncheon to surpass its goal and eclipse the $1 million mark overall in monies raised.
The event, chaired by Laura Schulte, president of Eastern regional banking, Wells Fargo and Co., exceeded its goal of $175,000. In 10 years, the event has raised $1.07 million dollars.
The Projective Eye Gallery, located in UNC Charlotte Center City, will present “Murmurs on the Other Side of Light,” surreal paintings of the life of the shadow by Guyanese artist Stanley Greaves from Friday, Nov. 22, through Friday, Jan. 3. An opening reception for the exhibit will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 23.

“Semantic Technologies in IBM Watson” is a new course for UNC Charlotte’s College of Computing and Informatics starting in spring 2014, and the University is one of only three in the country to offer it.
