Two members of the Digital Media team from UNC Charlotte’s Office of University Communications (UComm) have been nominated for a regional Emmy Award for videos profiling undergraduate and graduate students.

Whitney Wilson and Harrison Hieb are nominated in the category Informational/Instructional Series for their work on "49er Faces."

The 35th Midsouth Regional Emmy Awards will be presented virtually in late February 2021.

"This is the third consecutive year our work has been nominated for an Emmy,” said Craig Berlin, senior director of digital media communications. “Recognition from our peers at this level acknowledges the outstanding work the UComm video team creates to bring UNC Charlotte to life for our various audiences."

Wilson, a TV director/producer, has been with UComm’s digital media team since 2019.

Hieb, a videographer/cinematographer, and two other UComm colleagues won an Emmy in 2018 for their work on "Niner Nation Gives 2017: Make It the Norm." He joined UComm in 2017. In 2018, Hieb received a nomination for an Emmy Award for his work on "Light Rail Connects Us." In 2019, he was nominated for his work on "Niner Nation Rises."
