Applications for the 2021 Orientation Counselor team are being accepted through noon, Friday, Oct. 23.
Orientation counselors (OCs) work with New Student & Family Services in the Dean of Students Office. They use their leadership skills to welcome new Niners and their family members to campus annually. During this leadership position, OCs serve as small group facilitators, peer educators, resource guides and role models to first-year students, transfer students, families and guests as they transition to UNC Charlotte. Orientation counselors also help facilitate Gold Rush and Family Weekend programming.
Faculty and staff are encouraged to nominate students using this form who they think would be a good fit for the role. New Student & Family Services staff will email nominated students with more information. Submit nominations by Wednesday, Oct. 21, so students have ample time to complete their application before the Oct. 23 deadline.
Additionally, students who are interested in learning more about becoming an orientation counselor can attend one of the virtual interest sessions.
