The UNC Charlotte Army ROTC program will hold a virtual commissioning ceremony for its graduating 49er Battalion cadets, due to social distancing related to COVID-19.
Watch the ceremony starting at 10 a.m., Friday, May 15, on the ROTC program’s Facebook page. Cadets will be commissioned representing UNC Charlotte, Gardner-Webb University, Davidson College, Pfeiffer University, Catawba College and Lenoir Rhyne University. Some of those commissioned will report as early as May 24 to begin their U.S. Army careers.
Since 2010, the UNC Charlotte Army ROTC has commissioned 209 U.S. Army officers. The Army ROTC program began at UNC Charlotte in 1981, when it was hosted at Davidson College. UNC Charlotte became the host institution in 1996.
The cadets being commissioned as second lieutenants are:
