Annual reminder about winter break energy reduction

The University will close for winter break Monday, Dec. 24, through Wednesday, Jan. 2. In accordance with the University’s energy policy, some campus buildings will not be heated above 60 degrees. Individuals should be prepared for colder than normal room temperatures.

The following locations are exempt from this policy and will be maintained at their normal occupied temperatures: Atkins Library, Barnhardt Student Activity Center, Bioinformatics Building, Burson Building, Cameron Applied Research Center, Cone University Center, Duke Centennial Hall, FOPS, Grigg Hall, Popp Martin Student Union, PORTAL Building, PPS/FM Building, Price Counseling Center, Robinson Hall, Student Health Center and the research wing of Woodward Hall. The policy also does not apply to residence halls, labs, data centers and research areas.
