COACHE survey seeking faculty input on job satisfaction

Faculty input sought through COACHE survey
Wednesday, February 4, 2015

UNC Charlotte full-time faculty members are encouraged to participate in a survey of faculty job satisfaction as part of the national research program Collaborative on Academic Careers in Higher Education (COACHE), which has operated from the Harvard Graduate School of Education since 2003.

Participants will complete a 25-minute, Web-based survey; faculty have received unique links to the survey via email from COACHE (coachefaculty@opinioncast.com). COACHE will not use names or email addresses for any purposes except for this research.

This survey was designed entirely to determine faculty job satisfaction compared to faculty at peer institutions. UNC Charlotte has used faculty responses from previous surveys to improve the clarity of tenure and promotion processes, revise the faculty handbook to better recognize community-engaged scholarship and teaching, increase support for social science research, establish faculty awards to recognize outstanding academic contributions and provide increased mentoring and support for tenure and promotion.

Previous COACHE survey results are posted on the Provost’s Office website.  Direct questions about this survey to Yvette Huet at ymhuet@uncc.edu or 704-687-8696, or email COACHE at coachefaculty@srbi.com.
