Courses and information sessions for February include:

Lean Six Sigma White Belt Certification                                                 Sunday, Feb. 1
8 a.m.                                                                                                             Online Course
This online course provides a brief overview of three of the most-widely used total quality management methodologies in industry today. This course is offered in partnership with the Center for Lean Logistics and Engineered Systems, a unit of the UNC Charlotte William States Lee College of Engineering.

 

Introduction to Computer Forensics                                                       Sunday, Feb. 1
8 a.m.                                                                                                             Online Course
This online course will provide an overview of digital forensics to aid the student in understanding the process of data creation, recovery, and analysis and the benefits of that knowledge during a forensic accounting engagement. The course will allow students to gain an understanding of working with investigations related to data forensics, emails, internet/web forensics, mobile devices and networks.

Business Analysis Information Session                                                    Wednesday, Feb. 4
12:30 to 1:30 p.m.                                                                                       UNC Charlotte Center City
This free information session will provide participants the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the Business Analysis Certificate program. Business analysts work as liaisons among stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems. This certificate program was developed to align with the IIBA (International Institute of Business Analysis) Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK). 

Meeting and Event Planning Certificate Program                                Friday, Feb. 6
8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.                                                                                UNC Charlotte Center City
The Certificate Program in Meeting and Event Planning is comprehensive—every session features interaction among students and faculty. Each module is a different component, resulting in a composite that teaches tactical skills and strategic thinking techniques. The content and instruction help an individual stay on the cutting edge of the profession.

Human Resource/ Learning & Development Information Session Wednesday, Feb. 11

This free information session will provide individuals with the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the Human Resource and Learning and Development Certificate programs, individual courses and the PHR/SPHR Certification Exam Preparation course. UNC Charlotte offers human resource and learning and development courses that will meet the needs of those individuals who are new to the HR and training industry, who are seasoned professionals looking for additional training and who are PHR/SPHR/GPHR certified and trying to earn HRCI and continuing education credit.

 

PHR/SPHR Certification Exam Preparation                                                           Monday, Feb. 16

The PHR/SPHR Certification Exam Preparation course will prepare the a human resources professional to sit for either the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) exam. Professional certification is a must for the serious HR professional. The PHR or SPHR title certifies that the bearer is instantly recognized as a knowledgeable professional.

 

Principles of Project Management                                                                         Thursday, Feb. 19

This course is intended as an overview describing the fundamental principles, processes, knowledge areas and tools and techniques of project management and is designed for practical application in the workplace. This two-day foundation course covers the primary topics described by the Project Management Institute (PMI) in its publication “A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge,” (PMBOK Guide Fifth Edition).

 

Web Design and Publishing                                                                                      Monday, Feb. 23
6 to 9 p.m.                                                                                                                   UNC Charlotte Center City
The certificate covers the basics of visual communication, branding, instruction on how to register a domain name, security issues, WordPress and more.  Instructors will guide participants in Web building, step-by-step, while they practice the skills inside and outside of the classroom. The Web Design and Publishing Certificate is designed for individuals seeking the knowledge and expertise to build and maintain their own website, whether for their company or for themselves.
