Early college high school to add traffic to CRI campus

Thursday, August 21, 2014

Charlotte Engineering Early College, located on the Charlotte Research Institute campus near CRI Deck 1, will open Monday, Aug. 25. The high school’s initial enrollment of 100 freshmen will be dropped off in personal vehicles or in one of six buses operated by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.

Classes will be from 9:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. each day, so there will be additional vehicular traffic at the campus entrances off North Tryon Street for roughly 30 minutes prior to and after classes. Faculty, staff and students should plan accordingly and use caution when traveling near this part of campus.

Charlotte Engineering Early College is a collaboration between Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and UNC Charlotte.
