New SGA president sworn in as trustee

Thursday, May 1, 2014

Steven Serio, who was elected student body president in March, was formally sworn in as an ex officio member of the UNC Charlotte Board of Trustees for a one-year term ending in 2015.

Serio, a junior finance major who grew up in Charlotte, stated a number of goals for his term as Student Government Association president. He plans to increase awareness of the SGA among students, to improve academic advising by working with campus administrators and student focus groups, to create and build traditions so students better understand what it means to be a 49er and to encourage greater student involvement in campus life/organizations.
