The UNC Charlotte ADVANCE Faculty Affairs and Diversity Office recently hosted a reception for Provost Joan Lorden in honor of her selection as a 2014 Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

Lorden received this distinction from peers in recognition of her significant career contributions to the field of neuroscience and graduate education. The organization specifically cited Lorden’s efforts to increase retention of women and underrepresented minorities in science and engineering.
