Yensan’s CRI appointment extended

Wednesday, April 2, 2014

With the opening of PORTAL, Charlotte Research Institute officials have announced that Lester “Chip” Yensan will remain at CRI as associate director for infrastructure through the current calendar year.

Prior to joining CRI in August 2012, Yensan was assistant vice president for student affairs at the University of Rhode Island; he held positions at the University of Connecticut and Michigan State University, too.

As associate director for infrastructure, Yensan was CRI’s principal representative on the PORTAL construction project and has supervised a range of administrative programs and projects within CRI.

Concurrently, Yensan was chair of the newly formed Space Management Advisory Committee (SMAC) as part of the first phase implementation of a new campus integrated space management initiative, and he has served on the facilities management departmental self-evaluation review team.  Effective immediately and during the coming months, Yensan will direct full time attention to overseeing various CRI partnership and outreach projects, as well as provide assistance in steering various facets of PORTAL through its first year of operation.

Robert Wilhelm, vice chancellor for economic development, said “We look forward to Chip’s continued involvement and service as associate director for the Charlotte Research Institute.”
