Former ambassador to discuss U.S.-Japan relations

Ichiro Fujiksaki, former ambassador of Japan to the United States, will present “A New Look at U.S.-Japan Relations” at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, March 20, in the Student Union, Room 340. This talk is part of the sixth annual International Speaker Series.

After serving as the ambassador of Japan to the United States from 2008-12, Fujisaki was installed as president of the America-Japan Society, a nonprofit and nonpolitical organization with a mission to promote understanding between the United States and Japan. He is a distinguished professor at Sophia University and Keio University, both in Tokyo.

The International Speaker Series is free and open to the campus community. This installment of the series is coordinated in partnership with UNC Charlotte’s Atkins Library; the Department of Global, International and Area Studies; the Department of Languages and Culture Studies; the Nihon Club; and the Office of International Programs.
