University bringing Disney Institute to Charlotte
Tuesday, February 18, 2014

In a first for the University, the Office of Extended Academic Programs is partnering with the Disney Institute to bring its innovative leadership training to Charlotte on Wednesday, March 12.

Recognized as a storytelling enterprise, the Walt Disney Company is known for its ability to engage the emotions of its audience. At destinations around the globe, the Disney Company has discovered that leading by example is a storyline that delivers tangible results: improved behavior and increased productivity.

Trainers from the Disney Institute will lead “Disney’s Approach to Leadership Excellence” from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., March 12, in the Student Union. Participants will learn how to:

  • Adapt Disney’s leadership strategies and best practices to their organization
  • Develop and communicate a leadership vision
  • Establish and maintain effective processes and structure to meet goals
  • Apply the strategies Disney leaders use to foster individual responsibility across the organization
  • Inspire commitment and leadership development to others
  • Implement an action plan to align vision, goals and continued development
