University to observe ‘Love Your Body Week’

Monday, February 10, 2014

The Recreational Services Department, Counseling Center, Multicultural Resource Center and the Center for Wellness Promotion are cosponsoring programs to promote a healthier body image to students.

The events, scheduled for Monday, Feb. 17, through Thursday, Feb. 20, are part of “Love Your Body Week.”

Bethany Massman, assistant director for fitness with recreational services, explained “We wanted to offer programs to show it is important to support positive body image. We often see extremes when it comes to body image, so this week’s programs will really open up dialogue on issues such as body image, self-esteem, and healthy habits.”

Feb. 19 -The Center for Wellness Promotion will host its weekly Wellness Wednesday on the topic of body image and health from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Union Rotunda.
