Experiential Learning and Part-Time Job Fair part of Internship Week

Thursday, January 30, 2014

The University Career Center will hold its Experiential Learning and Part-time Job Fair from 1 to 4 p.m., Friday, Feb. 7, in the Barnhardt Student Activity Center.

More than 55 employers representing a range of industries will be on campus to recruit students for internships, co-ops, part-time and summer jobs. This fair is a great opportunity for students to increase their marketability to future employers and even boost their starting salaries after graduation, said Career Center officials. Students can view the companies registered to attend and learn more online.

Leading up to the fair, the Career Center is hosting Internship Week, Feb. 3-7. Planned activities include a student internship panel, employer office hours and an employer presentation series. These events are designed to relay the value of experience and give students opportunities to connect with employers. Click here for full schedule of Internship Week events.

According to the Career Center, many students attend these events because a faculty member or advisor recommended they attend. The University Career Center asks that faculty and advisor encourage students to attend this year’s fair.  Faculty and advisors are welcome to stop by the fair on Feb. 7 to meet employer representatives.
