The College of Health and Human Services’ School of Nursing, in conjunction with its alumni chapter, will hold its third annual Distinguished Lectureship Conference on Thursday, Feb. 6, at UNC Charlotte Center City.
The conference, “The Impact of Health Care Reform on Special Populations” will feature interactive sessions on the Affordable Care Act and how it will impact special populations, such as women, senior citizens and veterans. There also will be session on issues related to prevention and costs as well as challenges and solutions for health care.
Susan DeVore, CEO of Premier Healthcare, will be a featured keynote speaker. Other speakers will be Michael Bleich, the Maxine Clark and Bob Fox Dean and Professor at Washington University, and Laurie Zephyrin, national director for reproductive health for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
DeVore, who obtained a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Master of Management from McGill University, has been named to Modern Healthcare's 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare and Top 25 Women in Healthcare. She is an executive committee member of the Healthcare Leadership Council.
Conference registration is $75 per person and includes continental breakfast, lunch, snacks, reception and conference materials.
