Manuel Sager, ambassador of Switzerland to the United States, will give a talk at 3:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 27, in the College of Health and Human Services, Room 128, as part of the sixth annual International Speaker Series.

Prior to his appointment as ambassador in 2010, Sager headed the political affairs division of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) after serving several joint appointments within the FDFA and the Federal Department of Economic Affairs. His experience also includes the roles of deputy consul general in the Embassy of Switzerland in New York, director of the Coordination Office for Humanitarian Law with a legal specialization in international humanitarian law and executive director, with the joint title of ambassador, at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London.

Space is limited for this Jan. 27 presentation. Faculty members are encouraged to reserve attendance with their classes and/or arrange for an extra-credit sign-in sheet for students. Email  the Office of International Programs at international@uncc.edu or call 704-687-8685.

The International Speaker Series is free and open to the campus community. This installment of the series is coordinated in part by the Allegro Foundation in conjunction with the Office of International Programs; Atkins Library; and the Department of Global, International and Area Studies.
