‘Even Higher Education’ campaign has global reach

The University’s Even Higher Education campaign to increase awareness of UNC Charlotte’s graduate offerings has resulted in an interesting request from an HIV specialist in India.

Through the advertising placed for the campaign, a large volume of website traffic was generated to the Even Higher Education website. On the other side of the world, Matin Khan learned about Diana Rowan, an assistant professor in the Department of Social Work in the College of Health and Human Services. He read about Rowan’s work with at-risk populations, including individuals with HIV/AIDS, and he discovered her text “Social Work with HIV and AIDS: A Case-based Guide.”

“This book is very well-written and a must for all HIV care providers,” wrote Matin in an email via the Contact Us link on the Even Higher Education website. “Unfortunately, we don’t get any help/assistance from anywhere and remain deprived of access to quality books on HIV.”

The Office of University Communications has purchased four copies of the work and is arranging their delivery to Khan.

Rowan said she was humbled by the request and was glad he found her book helpful.
