UNC Charlotte Center City joins QC pink campaign

Wednesday, October 2, 2013

Drive by UNC Charlotte Center City at night before Sunday, Oct. 6, and see it “pretty in pink” in support of the Queen City in Pink Initiative and national Breast Cancer Awareness month.

According to Donell Stines-Jones, starting at dusk, the building’s internal stairwell from the first to 12th floors shines “bright pink.” Reusable sleeves that cover the florescent bulbs are responsible for the temporary transformation.

“We are in full support of breast cancer awareness and happy to establish our presence in concert with our uptown neighbors to 'light the night' in pink,” said Stines-Jones.

UNC Charlotte Center City joined more than 150 owners and tenants of Charlotte properties as part of the fifth annual Queen City in Pink campaign, which encouraged the use of pink lighting; pink dye in fountains; or the display of pink ribbons, banner and flags; to promote national Breast Cancer Awareness month.
