Second ‘Rockin’ for Recovery’ scheduled

Wednesday, September 18, 2013

The Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC) will hold its second annual “Rockin’ for Recovery” event from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 25, at the plaza across from the Student Union.

Students, volunteers or those currently in recovery, will rock for three hours to help generate awareness about and support students who are in recovery from addiction. Any student can volunteer to be a part of the event.

The Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC) program works closely with the Center for Wellness Promotion to help students with addiction issues through peer support, 12-step meetings, advising for academic success and educational classes on life issues for students in recovery.

Carol Rose, CRC marketing specialist, said, “It would greatly benefit people to know about the services that CRC offers. This event will show students in recovery that they are not alone and that there is support for them.”
