Football’s impact on ‘town and gown’ focus of discussion

The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences’ Center for the Study of the New South is sponsoring a series of programs that focus on "Sports in the New South: Culture, Color and Cash."

“49ers Football: The Impact on Town and Gown" is the fall semester’s first event; it will be at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 27, at UNC Charlotte Center City. The panelists will be Danny Morrison, president, Carolina Panthers; Philip L. Dubois, chancellor, UNC Charlotte; Judy Rose, director of intercollegiate athletics, UNC Charlotte; and Jeffrey Leak, director, Center for the Study of the New South. WCNC anchor/reporter Sonja Gantt will moderate.
