Lee Gray, associate professor of architectural history, has won a 2013 Gold Award from the Trade Association Business Publications International for his regular column on elevator history in the monthly magazine “Elevator World.”

The premier publication for the international building transportation industry, “Elevator World” has been in circulation since 1953. Gray has contributed his column since 2003.

In announcing the “Tabbie” Gold Award for Regular Column, judges noted, "With the luxury of space, more visuals were included to illustrate the long column. The article contains well-thought and researched materials throughout history and in adult literature to bring readers back in time."

Gray also serves as senior associate dean of academic affairs for the College of Arts + Architecture.
