Eastis named new QEP assessment director

Carla Eastis has been appointed the University’s new Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) assessment director. In this position, she will work with faculty and colleges to implement "Prospect for Success" (enhancing student engagement in the curriculum) and to develop a meaningful and authentic assessment process.

In addition, Eastis will provide leadership and consultation to promote continuous improvement in student learning, educational practices and support services as part of the new Office of Assessment and Accreditation.

Eastis joins the University from Catawba College, where she served as the director of institutional effectiveness and research. She also was an assistant professor of sociology at the college for seven years. She holds degrees in political science and sociology, including a Ph.D. in sociology from Yale University.
