Latricia Boone recently joined the public relations team in the Office of University Communications, Division for University Advancement.
Boone, who reports to PR director John Bland, will serve as communications director for the colleges of Education and Health and Human Services.
Most recently a communications consultant working with nonprofit organizations, Boone was communications and special projects manager at Sodexo Inc., where she served as special assistant to the senior vice president and global chief diversity officer. Before that, Boone worked in the Office of the Chief of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department as a public information manager. She also served as community outreach coordinator for the UNC Charlotte Urban Institute.
A native of the Washington, D.C., area, Boone earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Howard University and a master’s degree in government/policy from Johns Hopkins University.
