UNC Charlotte’s 27th annual Staff Recognition Celebration will be Wednesday, Sept. 19, through Thursday, Oct. 18. During this period, there are a number of social events and sports competitions planned.
As part of this annual celebration, the University holds a special luncheon to recognize employee service and the Staff Employees of the Year. This event will be from noon to 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 5, in the Student Union Multipurpose Room. Employees who receive awards for 15-plus years of service will be honored at the luncheon; staff members with five and 10 years of service will be recognized at the departmental/division level.
To honor early morning/night shift staff employees, there will be a special breakfast from 6 to 7 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 25, and the Chancellor’s Reception will be from 2 to 4 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 18, in the Student Union Multipurpose Room. Each year, Chancellor Philip L. Dubois hosts this event in appreciation of staff and faculty.

Tailgate Toss Tournament – 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 19, West Quad
Golf Tournament – 9 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 2, Tradition Golf Club
Staff Council Fall Festival – 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 9, Barnhardt Student Activity Center
Bowling Tournament – 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 17, University Lanes
There will be a minimal fee for activities. Upon the approval of an employee’s supervisor, vacation leave, flex-time or compensatory time can be used to participate in activities occurring during an employee’s normal working hours.
Employees are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunities available to meet and socialize with friends and colleagues. Make plans now to participate in one or more of the events.
