The selection committee for the 2013 Bank of America Award for Teaching Excellence is soliciting nominees.  This award is one of the most important and prestigious presented by the University, as it honors outstanding teachers on campus and provides an example of UNC Charlotte’s commitment to teaching excellence.

New Center City mural celebrates a magical and multicultural Charlotte

A new mural at UNC Charlotte Center City presents a vibrant depiction of Charlotte to passers-by on Brevard Street.

“God Save the Queen” features Queen Charlotte, for whom the city was named, and hornets, the city’s unofficial mascot, in a richly colored cityscape that glows with yellows, blues, oranges and greens. The mural is by UNC Charlotte alumnus John Hairston.


General to give International Speaker Series talk

Fall Dance Concert to feature three new works, ballet masterpiece

 The UNC Charlotte Department of Dance will hold its Fall Student Dance Concert Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 15-18, in the Belk Theater of the Robinson Hall for the Performing Arts.  Three new works by Department of Dance faculty will be presented, along with the iconic “Balcony Scene” from Sir Kenneth MacMillan’s “Romeo and Juliet.”


Nursing students win philanthropy award

Eleven UNC Charlotte alumni honored for service, achievements

In what has become a tradition, the UNC Charlotte Alumni Association presents awards to recognize alumni who embody the core principles of the University and have distinguished themselves through their outstanding service to the University, their chosen field and humanity.

The 2012 awards were presented Saturday evening, Nov. 3, at the Alumni Awards Banquet.
