Latrica Kelly, a part-time driver with the Parking and Transportation Services Office, died Friday, Sept. 8.
Kelly,46, first joined the University as a temporary employee in September 2013; she became a permanent part-time staff member April 1, 2015.
“When I think of Latrica, I remember her daily greetings, her sense of humor, her contagious smile and her various hairstyles. Every day she would greet everyone in the office as well as every passenger she picked up for SafeRide. She was truly dedicated to her job and her personality will remain in our hearts forever,” said Helena Connors, assistant director for Parking and Transportation Services.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 16, at A.E. Grier & Sons Funeral Ceremony of Choice, 2310 Statesville Ave., Charlotte. The family will receive visitors at noon prior to the service.
Condolences may be sent to her sister Patrina Kelly, 1504 Hartland St., Charlotte, NC 28216; donations also can be sent to the family to defray funeral expenses. A gofundme site is accepting donations through the end of September, too.
