Spirion Sensitive Data Finder is now available on faculty/staff computers. This software allows employees to search their computers for Social Security numbers (SSN) and credit card information.
Employees can run Spirion on their Mac or Windows machine as often as they would like to see if Social Security numbers (SSNs) and/or credit card information are stored on it. These are considered Highly Restricted Level 3 data and should never be stored on a hard drive. (See the University’s Guideline for Data Handling about UNC Charlotte’s data classification system and appropriate storage options.)
