Apply for fifth Charlotte Research Scholars program

Monday, February 1, 2016

The Charlotte Research Scholars (CRS) program, a summer experience for high-achieving students, is accepting applications for summer 2016.

This annual program, which began in 2012, is designed to provide participants with research experience and professional development in their fields of interest. CRS will provide funding to more than 50 UNC Charlotte rising seniors to participate in the 10-week program. Scholars receive one-on-one, faculty-guided research training and participate in weekly professional development sessions to better prepare them for graduate school and a future research career.

Rising seniors in all academic disciplines are eligible to apply; the deadline is Friday, Feb. 19. Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.8 and a demonstrated desire to do independent research. Scholars will receive a $4,000 fellowship for participation in the program.

This year’s program will be from Monday, May 23, through Friday, July 29. An annual Summer Research Symposium is part of the program; this event is set for Wednesday, July 27.

UNC Charlotte's Division of Academic Affairs, the Graduate School, the Charlotte Research Institute, and the Duke Endowment Special Initiatives Fund provide support for the Charlotte Research Scholars.
