The EPIC Energy and Environmental Assistance Office (EEAO) is conducting three raffles as incentives for employees and students to make healthy choices to improve air quality in Charlotte.
During the summer, Charlotte is affected primarily by ground level ozone, a pollutant that stems from exhaust from cars or trucks, especially when temperatures are higher, according to the EEAO.
Weekly raffles (entered using online surveys) will award prizes for employees who eat at the office, picnic on campus, walk to restaurants or who otherwise don’t drive during lunch. Another drawing will be for individuals who fill up their gas tanks before 6:30 a.m. or after 7:30 p.m., when the air is cooler to minimize gas leaks into the atmosphere (receipts should be sent to EPIC, Room 1150) after completing the online survey. The third raffle is for those who clean commute on the weekend or after work.
Raffles began Monday, July 13, and will continue through Aug. 23.
