A SOAR leader conducts a campus tour for incoming students and their parents. SOAR is the Student Orientation, Advising and Registration program that helps new students transition to UNC Charlotte and allows them to meet with an academic advisor and register for fall semester classes.

"SOAR is a great program for new students that helps them get a solid start at the University," said Dennis Wiese associate dean of students. "The program covers not only orientation basics, but really focuses on academics. We're committed to making sure students get the help and direction they need to be successful."

More than 5,500 students and 4,000 family members are expected to take advantage of SOAR sessions this summer.
