UNC Charlotte successfully concluded its Niner Nation Gives campaign earlier today, and campus leaders were pleased with the inaugural day of giving.

“We have had an extraordinary 24 hours with 653 gifts to UNC Charlotte made by alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends of UNC Charlotte,” said Niles Sorensen, vice chancellor for the Division of University Advancement. “Our constituencies staked their claim to UNC Charlotte by making an investment in our future.  By that measure, Niner Nation Gives was a tremendous success and demonstrates a powerful impact when we all work together.”

Stacie Young, director of annual giving, added the outpouring of support from alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff and friends of the University was great. “Members of the Niner Nation came together proudly for our University, so we can celebrate our success from a fundraising as well as a community-building perspective.”

During the on-campus student picnic celebration, almost 200 first-time student donors made gifts to the University, which will further foster a tradition of philanthropy at UNC Charlotte, added Young.

Division of University Advancement personnel were involved in the planning and execution of Niner Nation Gives.

“The collaboration within our division was amazing. Our operations and marketing teams successfully coordinated our annual giving and social media efforts to reach 49ers, not only in Charlotte but across the nation and internationally.
