During a recent spring break study abroad trip to India, UNC Charlotte students celebrated the spring festival of Holi at Jamia Milia Islamia in Delhi. Also known as the festival of colors, Holi is an ancient Hindu religious festival celebrated in early spring. The UNC Charlotte campus community will hold a Holi celebration at 5 p.m., Tuesday, March 24, on the front fields.

Shanti Kulkarni, social work, and Beth Racine, public health sciences, led the spring break program “Health, Empowerment and Gender Equity in India.”

The College of Health and Human Services program was one of 12 faculty-led, short-term study abroad opportunities for spring 2015. Upcoming programs for short-term and summer or semester programs are available as well. Students interested in future study abroad opportunities can obtain more information from the Office of Education Abroad, located in the College of Health and Human Services, Room 256.
