Friday, March 20, 2015

The Southeast Venture Conference (SEVC) will hold, what is expected to be its largest-ever event, March 31 to April 1 in Charlotte through the backing and support of a trio of new title sponsors, Charlotte Regional Fund for Entrepreneurship (CRFE), UNC Charlotte and the city of Charlotte.

The Charlotte Venture Challenge (CVC) is being held concurrently with the Southeast Venture Conference.

Robert Wilhelm, vice chancellor for research and economic development, stated, “UNC Charlotte works to drive economic growth through research and partnerships among academic, corporate, and entrepreneurial communities. We have supported the Charlotte Venture Challenge since 2002 and are pleased that this year’s collaboration with SEVC will expand awareness of the region’s most promising emerging entrepreneurs among active, knowledgeable investors.”

The Southeast’s largest startup competition, CVC annually attracts more than 100 startups that compete for investor attention and customer discovery opportunities by large corporate companies. It will take place at Le Méridien in Uptown.

The SEVC, which showcases more than 50 high-growth, innovative companies to the investment community, will feature Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, as a keynote speaker.
