University of Maryland law professor to deliver fourth annual TIAA-CREF Lecture

Frank Pasquale, author of the top-selling “The Black Box Society:  The Secret Algorithms that Control Money and Information” is the featured speaker for the fourth annual TIAA-CREF Lecture scheduled for 7 p.m., Thursday March 12, at UNC Charlotte Center City.

The lecture will be preceded by a reception beginning at 6 p.m., and a dessert reception will follow at 8 p.m.

Reservations are required.

Pasquale is a professor at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.  His research addresses challenges posed to information law by rapidly changing technology, particularly in the health care, Internet and finance industries.

UNC Charlotte faculty, staff and students are invited to attend an afternoon session with Pasquale at 2 p.m., March 12, in the Student Union Movie Theater. 

The TIAA-CREF Lecture is presented by UNC Charlotte, the Belk College of Business and the Colleges of Computing and Informatics, Health and Human Services and Liberal Arts & Sciences.
