Each year, UNC Charlotte’s Graduate School supports the Graduate and Professional Student Government (GPSG) to plan the Graduate Research Symposium (GRS), a student-run conference that showcases the latest student research taking place on campus.
The Graduate Research Symposium provides an inclusive and competitive environment for UNC Charlotte students to present their work. This year’s theme, “Learning Across Disciplines,” emphasizes the interdisciplinary nature of the symposium; the goal is to illustrate how research from all fields can be made accessible to attendees.
UNC Charlotte students from all disciplines are invited to submit abstracts for both papers and posters, while students from other universities will compete only in the poster category. Abstracts are due on Monday, Feb. 9, for research in one of four categories: computer science, mathematics and engineering; physical and natural sciences; health and social sciences; or humanities and education. Faculty members serve as judges.
GPSG President, Michael Gallemore, stated, "The GRS is an important and lasting legacy of GPSG’s core mission of professional development and academic contributions" and with the inclusion of graduate students from all North Carolina schools and the affiliation with the North Carolina Science Festival, this year’s symposium promises to be more prosperous than ever! The conference will take place on Saturday, April 11.”
