Religious studies professor to kick off 2015 Great Decisions series

J. Daniel White from the Religious Studies Department will discuss India’s changing political landscape at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 14, at UNC Charlotte Center City. The talk is the first in UNC Charlotte’s 2015 Great Decisions Lecture Series.

Coordinated nationally by the Foreign Policy Association, the Great Decisions program highlights relevant foreign policy issues. The University’s Office of International Programs coordinates an annual lecture series for the Charlotte community in January and February to discuss those issues.

Future speakers and topics are:

  • Beth Whitaker, political science and public administration, on Jan. 21, who will discuss U.S. policy toward Africa
  • Oscar de la Torre, Africana studies, on Jan. 28, who will discuss Brazil
  • Bojan Cukic, computer science, on Feb. 4, who will discuss biometrics and privacy in the digital age
  • Joyce Dalsheim, global, international and area studies, on Feb. 11, who will discuss sectarianism in the Middle East
  • Steve Sabol, history, on Feb. 18, who will discuss Russia and the near abroad

All lectures are free and open to the public, but registration is requested. The start time and location is the same for all talks (6:30 p.m., UNC Charlotte Center City, Room 204). More information is on the Web.
