UNC Charlotte recognizes employees through various teaching awards and the Employee of the Year Awards; however, the UNC Charlotte Staff Council is creating a new honor to celebrate workers’ “everyday” efforts to exceed job expectations.
“The Golden Nugget Award will provide faculty, managers, supervisors and coworkers a way to acknowledge colleagues for what they do to make UNC Charlotte a great place to work and learn,” said Jim Kay, chair of the Staff Council. “Starting in January, if someone sees a staff member providing exceptional service and representing the University in a manner we can all be proud of, nominate him or her for a Golden Nugget.”
The Staff Council will review nominations each month with Golden Nuggets being presented by area representatives.
