  • University remembers pioneering educator Bertha Maxwell-Roddey, founding director of the University’s Africana Studies Department.
  • Learn more about the graduate assistantship pay increase for 2024-25, along with other important updates in this week’s Academic Affairs Weekly News Digest.
  • The campus community is invited to attend the public presentation for the third finalist for the founding dean of the College of Humanities & Earth and Social Sciences. Please visit the CHESS dean search webpage for details, including the candidate’s CV. Following the presentation, please provide feedback via the candidate evaluation form, which is available until 8 a.m., Thursday, April 4.
  • Today is the last day to submit applications/nominations for scholarships to attend the Leadership Development Program offered through the Center for Creative Leadership.
  • The campus community is invited to the open forum for the first finalist for the associate vice chancellor for student affairs and dean of students from 11 a.m. to noon, tomorrow, March 26, in Cone University Center, Room 210. Candidate resumes and evaluation forms are available on the student affairs website. 
  • 49er Mart Users are encouraged to register for a virtual forum to be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Thursday, March 28. More information can be found on the 49er Mart message board.
  • The School of Social Work is hosting a free online conference “Empowering Connections: Inaugural Multiple Sclerosis Conference” from 9:30 a.m. to noon, Thursday, March 28.

  • The campus community is invited to the open forum for the first finalist for the associate vice chancellor for student affairs and dean of students from 11 a.m. to noon, tomorrow, March 26, in Cone University Center, Room 210. Candidate resumes and evaluation forms are available on the student affairs website. 
  • UNC Charlotte is raising the pay for students on graduate assistantships beginning with the 2024-25 academic year.
  • Applications are open for Leadership Fellows, a special training program for sophomores, juniors and non-graduating seniors. The deadline to apply or nominate someone is Friday, March 29.
  • The H.E.L.P Certificate program provides students with non-academic credit for participating in national prevention training opportunities on various health and well-being issues. Register on Niner Engage. Email questions to hwb-helpcert@charlotte.edu.

  • The School of Social Work is hosting a free online conference “Empowering Connections: Inaugural Multiple Sclerosis Conference” from 9:30 a.m. to noon, Thursday, March 28.  
  • Join the Office of Identity, Equity and Engagement for a two-day event Monday, April 1, and Tuesday, April 2, to decorate fabric squares, which will be made into a large quilt celebrating the unity of the unique, diverse queer and ally student communities at Charlotte.
