The 2024 Faculty Professional Development Showcase will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, in Atkins Library, Halton Reading Room. The showcase highlights faculty who have made improvements in their teaching as a result of their participation in professional development activities on campus. 

FACULTY & STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS 

  • The public presentation for the second finalist for the founding dean of the College of Humanities & Earth and Social Sciences is from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m., today, Thursday, March. 21, in the Popp Martin Student Union Movie Theater.
  • The campus community is invited to the open forums for the four finalists for the associate vice chancellor for student affairs and dean of students, which begin next week. Schedule details, resumes and evaluation forms are available on the student affairs website.
  • Mark your calendar for the Graduate Research Symposium and Diversity Scholars Forum tomorrow, Friday, March 22, in the Popp Martin Student Union. The GRS is an interdisciplinary graduate student-run conference hosted by the Graduate and Professional Student Government. The Diversity Scholars Forum features graduate student and postdoctoral research related to diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Reminder: Monday, March 25, is the deadline to submit applications/nominations for scholarships to attend the Leadership Development Program offered through the Center for Creative Leadership.
  • Nominate a faculty or staff member by Friday, March 29, for the Dubois Award for Accessibility Improvement, which recognizes outstanding employees outside the field of disability services who demonstrate exemplary support of or work in accessibility at Charlotte.
  • Reminder: SHRA employee self-appraisals are due Sunday, March 31. Log into NinerTalent to get started. 
  • Beginning fall 2024, faculty and staff who have purchased a CATS All-Access Pass will be required to use the CATS-Pass App to validate their fare when riding LYNX light rail and CATS buses. Set up the app now with your NinerNET@charlotte.edu email to be prepared!

  • Need help navigating your off-campus housing search? Attend the “On the Flip Side: The Legal, Financial and Practical Implications of Living Off Campus” Zoom webinar at 5 p.m., Thursday, March 28. Advance registration is required for the webinar hosted by Niner Finances, Student Legal Services, Financial Aid Office and Off-Campus Student Services.
