Economic Forecast: Recession risk recedes

ATTEND AN UPCOMING EVENT

  • The UNC Charlotte International Women’s Day celebration will be held from 3:30 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, in the Popp Martin Student Union; Sil Ganzó, executive director of OurBRIDGE, will be the keynote speaker. 
  • CAPS is bringing Send Silence Packing, a national mental health and suicide prevention immersive awareness exhibit, to campus Wednesday, March 20.
  • Attend Green Dot Games from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, March 21! Create a team or come on your own to play a series of competitive games. The first 100 guests will receive T-shirts, and all attendees will be treated to a free dinner (while supplies last). Students must arrive by 5:10 p.m. to participate.
  • H.E. Masood Khan, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the U.S., will discuss Pakistan’s role in the world as part of the Office of International Programs International Speaker Series at 3 p.m., Thursday, March 21, in the Cone University Center, Room 113.
  • Mark your calendar for the Graduate Research Symposium and Diversity Scholars Forum Friday, March 22, in the Popp Martin Student Union. The GRS is an interdisciplinary graduate student-run conference hosted by the Graduate and Professional Student Government. The Diversity Scholars Forum features graduate student and postdoctoral research related to diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Join CAPS for the eighth annual Play Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, in the CHHS/CoEd Plaza. Play Day highlights the importance of play in managing our mood, stress and anxiety and will feature paw pals, free snacks, games and more.
  • Join Atkins Library for a discussion of Yaa Gyasi’s book “Homegoing,” Thursday, April 25, as part of the National Endowment for the Humanities' “The Big Read.” The first 20 students to register will receive a free copy of the book.
