Distinguished alumni awards
The UNC Charlotte Alumni Association bestowed its 2024 Alumni Awards to six outstanding individuals for their service to their professions, communities and the University Friday, March 1.

- The 2024 AI Institute call for proposals closes at 11:59 p.m., tomorrow, Friday, March 8. Submit your session proposals for lightning talks, digital poster presentations or lesson demonstrations.
- The American Red Cross and UNC Charlotte are hosting the 15th annual 49ers4LIFE Blood Drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, in the Popp Martin Student Union, Room 340. Visit redcrossblood.org and use sponsor code “49ers4life” to schedule your appointment.
- STEM Academy is back! Explore the whats and whys of course coordination with Wendy Smith from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., Friday, March 15.
- The Center for Wellness Promotion is hosting a Green Dot Training from 2 to 3:30 p.m., Thursday, March 21, in Popp Martin Student Union, Room 340. Attend the training to learn to recognize, react and prevent sexual assault, dating violence and stalking.
- Join HR for an overview refresher on the SHRA Performance Management System at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 22. Registration is available on the Learning and Development Portal.
- Reminder: Now through Wednesday, May 15, faculty, staff and affiliates can voluntarily switch their primary Google accounts from uncc.edu to charlotte.edu. On May 15, accounts will be automatically converted.

The Department of Music will present a free Faculty and Friends concert featuring Associate Professor Jessica Lindsey with the Burnt Reeds, a quintet of musicians from the Carolinas, at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, in the Rowe Recital Hall.
