Niner Nation Week: Homecoming 2023!
Join UNC Charlotte Oct. 9-15, as we paint the town green during a week filled with celebrations, gatherings, performances, spirit contests and more, culminating with our signature Homecoming events.
Niner Nation Week Campus Scavenger Hunt
Feeling competitive? Join the Niner Nation Week Scavenger Hunt for a chance to win incredible prizes including UNC Charlotte gear and $300 worth of Niner-owned business gift cards! All of Niner Nation can earn points by participating.
Join the hunt by:
- Downloading the Scavify app
- Creating a username and password
- Joining the “Niner Nation Week” hunt
- Completing tasks and start racking up points
VOTE FOR THE GOLDEN NINER
In 2021, UNC Charlotte launched a new Homecoming tradition: The Niner 9. Vote for who you think should be the Golden Niner! Voting will take place October 5-11. The Golden Niner will be announced at halftime of the Homecoming game.
Spirit Displays
Wear your Charlotte gear all week, show off your Niner pride with these two events:
- Paint the Campus Green: Student Involvement is blanketing the campus with spirit Monday, Oct. 9. Grab some spray chalk and stencils from the Center for Student Involvement (Popp Martin Student Union, Room 210) and help brand the All-in-C across campus!
- Staff Council Pride Competition: UNC Charlotte Staff Council wants to see staff school spirit during Niner Nation Week! Enter individually or as an office to prove who has the most Niner Pride on campus. Register by 5 p.m., Friday, Oct. 6; judging is Thursday, Oct. 12.
Special Gatherings
Wine Vault Faculty and Staff Takeover Social
Monday, Oct. 9 | 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Alumni-owned Wine Vault and Boardwalk Billy’s will host UNC Charlotte faculty and staff, and community partners for a Niner Nation Week social filled with food, drinks, branded gear and Niner spirit. Register for the celebration.

Saturday, Oct. 14 |11:30 a.m. UNC Charlotte’s Alumni Association hosts the 2023 Homecoming Tailgate featuring multiple food and dessert stations, local beers and wine, entertainment and family-friendly games, plus a visit from the Pride of Niner Nation Marching Band! Homecoming Game: Charlotte vs. Navy | Halftime Celebration + Golden Niner Recognition
Saturday, Oct. 14 |2 p.m. The Homecoming game against Navy is officially sold out, but you can still get tickets through secondary ticketing partner SeatGeek. Cheer on your 49ers and enjoy special halftime activities, including the recognition of the Golden Niner!
