1. Traveling with the Band:

In 2018, Chancellor Dubois and wife Lisa Lewis Dubois host a guided tour to Normandy, France. The trip, May 31 to June 5,  supports and celebrates UNC Charlotte’s Pride of Niner Nation Marching Band, selected as the official band to represent the United States at the 74th D-Day commemoration events in Normandy.

2. FORE:

While Charlotte’s PGA Championship just departed, UNC Charlotte golf is swinging into action. Gearing up for a fall debut, freshman Mary Kate Hiller gives a peek into her opportunity to join the Charlotte 49ers inaugural women's golf team.

3. Oprah Endorsed:

English professor Bryn Chancellor’s debut novel, Sycamore, is tearing up the charts. It’s one of Oprah Magazine’s Top 20 Books for Summer, listed on Amazon’s “Best Literature and Fiction of 2017,” and New York Post, Glamour magazine and Bustle have all included it on their recommendation lists.

4. Amazing Grace:

Physical theatre professor CarlosAlexis Cruz received a coveted “2018 Works in Progress Award” from the Princess Grace Foundation. This earns the talented Cruz a funded residency to further develop “Picaro,” his one-man show about a Central American immigrant, at the Baryshnikov Arts Center in NYC this March.

5. Top Speed:

Responding to booming campus growth and energy, UNC Charlotte launches the Niner Transit system. Expect larger buses, expanded service and routes running every day until 2:30a.m. Oh, and there’s an app for that.
