Free Veterans Day concertThe UNC Charlotte Wind Ensemble, joined by the University Chorale and the Pride of Niner Nation Marching Band, will present “For Heroes Proved: A Veterans Day Concert” at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 11, at Ovens Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public; no tickets are necessary. |

5. Politics and travelsTwo compelling lectures are on the horizon. Professor Mary Layton “Mel” Atkinson will discuss: “Why does the American public so often reject policies that seem to offer them exactly what they want?” The UNC Charlotte Urban Institute welcomes authors James and Deborah Fallows. Their new book chronicles their travels throughout the country visiting small and mid-sized towns. |
