Culinary expertise at UNC Charlotte is growing as Chartwells adds two new chefs, Jason Shillinglaw and Marcello Molina; the University’s dining staff now has seven chefs with more than 160 years of combined experience.
The College of Arts + Architecture hosted more than 20 engineers and executives from Ingersoll Rand, Wednesday, June 26, to assist in building the Solar Decathlon house UrbanEden. The Ingersoll Rand guests helped pour geopolymer tiles that will be used in the structure’s rain catchment troughs.
“Bonnie Cone: Educator, Trailblazer, Visionary” is on display on the first floor of the Atkins Library. It tells the story of UNC Charlotte’s founder, Bonnie Ethel Cone.
UNC Charlotte’s inaugural football season brings to mind the prospect of a traditional fall homecoming game. To coincide with such an event, the UNC Charlotte Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter is launching an effort to build a home for a deserving family on the University campus.

On Monday, July 1, the Charlotte 49ers will complete the move to Conference USA, a league they were members for 10 years (from 1995-96 through 2004-05). The 49ers will bid farewell to the Atlantic 10 Conference, of which they were member for eight years, from 2005-06 through 2012-13.
