Amy Tipton, assistant director of the UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens, is the instructor for “Native Tree Identification,” scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 3, at the McMillan Greenhouse.
In this class, participants will learn twig anatomy, fruit types and related vocabulary. With this knowledge, students will be able to identify many of North Carolina’s native trees by twig and fruit characteristics.
